Galician literature and culture strengthen ties with leisure and digital creation around the figure of Carlos Casares. The II edition of the conference 'Videoxogo and Literature. A cross-sectional view' will feature on this occasion a 'pixel art' contest and a 'game jam' related to the work of the Galician author.

The Carlos Casares Foundation organizes these conferences between September 11 and 12, in which the perspectives of the sector and the synergies with other genres, such as literature, are debated with specialized presentations. The event is held at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Vigo.

One of the main novelties of this edition lies in the contests. On the one hand, a pixelated art contest is promoted between August 20 and September 10, in which the presentation of an original piece (of a maximum of 512*512 pixels) about the episodes or characters of the novel 'Illustrissima'.

Precisely, this year marks the 40th anniversary of its publication and the creations can be visited at the Marco de Vigo and on the website 'videoxogoeliteratura.gal'. The first two prizes have a prize of 250 and 125 euros, respectively.

Another of the contests is the 'game jam'. The concept of the contest is to create a video game in teams of three people and within a week, on a specific topic related to the work of Carlos Casares and that they will only know as soon as the programming period begins.

The prize will be 500 and 250 euros, respectively, for the winner and second classified team. The registration period opens this Thursday.
